Quick Answers to Questions You're Probably Already Having

When will my starter arrive?

We prepare orders in 1–2 business days. USPS delivery typically takes another 5–7 business days. Our USPS service has no package tracking. Check your order status with your checkout email.

What if I'm not home when it arrives?

No problem. It's dehydrated, so it doesn't need refrigeration. It can sit in your mailbox for days and be perfectly fine.

What if I mess it up?

You won't. But if you do, just email us. We'll help you troubleshoot or send another packet free.

Do I need special equipment?

Nope. A bowl, a baking sheet, and your oven. That's it.

How long does the starter last?

Forever. Literally. Feed it once per week and it lives indefinitely.

Can I give some to a friend?

Absolutely. Once it's active, you can share portions with anyone. That's how heritage starters survive for centuries.
